In short
We cover the Antequera comarca – Antequera, Alameda, Casabermeja, Fuente de Piedra, Humilladero, Mollina and Villanueva de la Concepción. The asbestos-containing material is removed by a company registered in the RERA working as our subcontractor; we coordinate it and handle the rest of the demolition, the rubble and the clean-up. Inside Antequera's protected historic town, check with the town hall before any demolition work.
Antequera and its comarca: our service area
The Antequera comarca is one of the nine comarcas of the province of Málaga and was established by the Andalusian Government in 2003. Its landscape is mostly flat – the Hoya de Antequera – drained by the upper course of the Guadalhorce river. Antequera, the main town, lies in the centre of Andalusia where the Málaga–Córdoba and Granada–Seville routes meet.
We work in Antequera and in Alameda, Casabermeja, Fuente de Piedra, Humilladero, Mollina and Villanueva de la Concepción, including the scattered farms and rural houses between them. Owners here are mostly local families, farming businesses and companies with premises on the plain, alongside some foreign buyers of rural properties.
Large roofs on the plain: farms, stores and warehouses
Open farmland and a strategic crossroads mean plenty of large, simple buildings, and for several decades many of them were roofed with corrugated fibre-cement. The typical cases are:
- Agricultural stores and machinery sheds on farms across the Hoya.
- Livestock buildings with long fibre-cement roofs, sometimes partly collapsed after years out of use.
- Warehouses and workshops on the edges of the towns, where the roof is often the last original element left.
Large roofs need edge protection, crawling boards or platforms, because fibre-cement sheets will not bear a person's weight. The subcontractor's work plan sets how this is done. Our page on asbestos in warehouses explains the sequence, including what happens to gutters, skylights and purlins, and uralita roof removal covers the steps on smaller buildings.
Homes and the protected historic town of Antequera
In the towns the fibre-cement is usually on a domestic scale: lean-to roofs over patios, garage roofs, water tanks and downpipes in older blocks of flats. In a residential building under propiedad horizontal, works affecting common elements need the agreement of the owners' meeting – our page on asbestos in communities of owners covers that.
Antequera's historic town is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural in the Conjunto Histórico category, extended by Decree 5/2013, and the Antequera Dolmens Site was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016. In a protected historic ensemble a demolition needs a licence and, where applicable, heritage authorisation, so confirm the procedure with the ayuntamiento before any work beyond the asbestos removal itself is planned.
How a removal is organised in the comarca
The RERA-registered subcontractor prepares and files the work plan with the labour authority of the province of Málaga, which must approve it before work starts, and gives the required advance notice of the start of works. It then removes the asbestos-containing material without breaking it and packs it for transport. The waste – LER code 17 06 05*, construction materials containing asbestos – is kept apart and delivered to an authorised manager.
We coordinate the dates, demolish whatever has to go once the asbestos is out – a collapsed shed, an old structure, a concrete slab – and take away the sorted rubble. For a general demolition in the area, our sister site covers Antequera. To see the whole process, read our page on asbestos removal and send us photos of the building and its access.
For a farm building, it also helps to tell us whether the shed is still in use, what is stored inside and whether machinery can be moved out beforehand, because the area under the roof has to be emptied and closed off during the asbestos phase.

Frequently asked questions
Which towns around Antequera do you cover?
Antequera, Alameda, Casabermeja, Fuente de Piedra, Humilladero, Mollina and Villanueva de la Concepción, as well as the rural areas between them.
Our farm shed roof is partly collapsed. Can it still be removed safely?
Yes, but a damaged roof needs more care, because broken sheets and fragments are spread around. Tell us before the visit so the subcontractor can plan the collection of all fragments in its work plan.
Can we replace a warehouse roof in stages to keep working?
Often it can be done in sections, provided each working area can be closed off during the asbestos phase. The sequence is agreed in advance and written into the subcontractor's work plan.
Do you remove uralita inside Antequera's historic centre?
Yes, but in a protected historic ensemble any demolition needs a licence and, where applicable, heritage authorisation. Confirm what applies to your works with the ayuntamiento or your técnico first.
What happens to the steel or timber structure under the roof?
Once the fibre-cement has been removed, we can dismantle or demolish the remaining structure if it is not being reused, and the metal and wood go out as separate waste fractions.
Do I need to be present on the day?
Not necessarily. You or someone you trust needs to give access; we send photos of the work and the delivery receipts for the waste afterwards.
Can you remove uralita in a protected rural area?
Yes, the asbestos rules are the same. Access, protection of the surroundings and any municipal procedure are checked during planning.
Is the start of an asbestos job notified to anyone?
Yes. The start of the work is notified in advance to the labour authority by the RERA-registered company.
What does the town hall in Málaga city ask for a demolition?
For a declaración responsable it asks for a project or technical report signed by a qualified technician, a technical certificate, photographs and a separate document if the public road is occupied.
Do you give prices by phone?
We cannot price a job without seeing photos and details. For cost factors and a rounded first idea, use the calculator on our sister site Presupuesto Demolición.
